Prohibition In Conclusion
Overall, Prohibition was an enormous failure in the United States. It led citizens to commit unlawful acts because they believed that the 18th amendment infringed on their personal liberties as Americans. They lost the right to manufacture, sell, and transport alcoholic beverages. They also had the new responsibility to change their daily habits. It meant following new laws and giving up what many Americans enjoyed about the country itself. By the end of Prohibition, even the groups that originally supported it were against it. Prohibition changed American history and never really produced the positive results many had intended.
